Native Vacations, Inc., offers one of the most memorable and truly wonderful experiences of a lifetime. Here is what you expect when you join us for a Manatee Safari: Upon arrival, and after signing you paperwork, you will be shown a short video (filmed in cooperation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service) which demonstrates how you must behave when you are interacting with manatees in the water. After viewing the video, you may rent a wetsuit and snorkel gear, or change into the gear you brought with you. Next, you and your Coast Guard Certified Captain will proceed to the dock area and board our comfortable pontoon boat. You can expect to share the boat with no more than 8 people. While you are touring Kings Bay in search of manatees, your friendly and knowledgeable Captain will teach you about manatees and their habitat, and answer any questions you may have. After the Captain has found some friendly manatees, he or she will drop anchor and everyone will quietly enter the water and snorkel with the manatees. You will be allowed to take pictures, swim with, and even touch these amazing creatures! |

Safaris are available all year long, although many manatees leave the area in spring and summer. Kings Bay boasts a year round population, as many calves, especially those born in late Spring, stay in the area during their first year. The water during this time is generally less crowded, and the tours are often more enjoyable, due to normally better weather, than in Fall and Winter. |
Each Safari lasts approximately three hours, may be longer depending on conditions. Your 3 hour Safari may not return until after 11:00 a.m., so if you are staying in a hotel, you should request a late checkout time. If you would rather not deal with the hassle of staying in a hotel, you are welcome to rent our vacation home. Tours begin at 8:00 a.m
